Corten Steel

Champak Industries stock corten steel, it's a Weathering steel and Trade mark name is Corten steel, is high strength low alloy steel that was developed to resist corrosion and abrasion. The use of weathering steel or corten steel has spread worldwide it is available as "structural steel with improved atmospheric corrosion resistance" and is a non-proprietary product.

In suitable environments corten steel forms adherent protective rust 'patina', that inhibits further corrosion. The corrosion rate is so low that bridges fabricated and design from unpainted corten steel can achieve a life span120 year with only nominal maintenance. corten steel for building bridge in an appropriate environment an very low maintenance and economical. Corten steel is fusion of chromium, copper and nickel this is the basic difference from ordinary structural steel, which give enhanced resistance to corrosion.

Comparison of the material standards for weathering steel (EN 10025-5 ) and ordinary structural steel (EN (10025-2 ) shows that the specification requirements for all other elements in the steel chemistry are similar.

The range of corten steel we import, export and supply CORTEN STEEL Plates, IRSM 41 GRADE FOR RAILWAYS / METRO TRAINS, IRSM 44 GRADE FOR RAILWAYS/ METRO TRAINS, ASTM A242, CORTEN A, CORTEN B, ASTM A588 and S355JOWP.
